It’s Dragon Time

Hi everyone-

If you don’t know already, I have a deep love for dragons.  I’ve got figurines all over my desk, posters on my walls, books about dragons, dragons and more dragons.  I don’t have a bearded dragon however, but maybe that’ll come soon 🙂

402e27db3bf15ceb7367258e750880a5I fell in love with the creatures in my teenage years, and my fascination with them has only grown.  I’ve penned a few dragon shifter books, but I haven’t submitted them for publication.  My earlier ones need some work.  Due to my deep love for these mystical (I don’t consider them mythical) and magical creatures, I’ve started a new series that revolves around many different kinds of dragons.  Did you know there are different “breeds” of dragons?  From elemental dragons to places in between.  They are amazing to read up on and research, no to mention how beautiful and magnificent they are.  I’m incorporating different elements into my new series, with tweaks to the traditional to make them new and fresh, but keep to their roots.  (The dragon pictured here is an ice dragon.  Isn’t he beautiful?)

This new series is aimed to be at least four books, after which I’ll see if there is interest in more.  I mean, who wouldn’t like to snuggle up against some warm scales and have a leather-like wing as a blanket?  Or fly when the desire hits and spiral down toward the ground only to open up those wings to inject a raging dose of adrenaline?

Okay, I’m a roller coaster junkie.  I’ll admit it.

Dragons are loyal.  They are protectors.  They are guardians.  There is so much depth to them beyond the stereotypical “knight slays dragon and rescues princess” theme.  Nope.  No damsels in distress in this series.  No damsels at all.  This is all male goodness.  Add some extra powers and senses, and things are going to be kicked into overdrive.

As I finish up the first book in the series, I’m eager to begin the next.  I can’t wait to share more details about these…shifters with you.

I’ll leave you with this question, and I’d love to hear from you.  Are you a fan of dragons?  What is your favorite type?

xoxo

Leah
